In line with Ovako's quest for a greener and more climate-smart approach, Ovako is once again pleased to receive a renewed climate certificate from Green Cargo.
Emissions of greenhouse gases that risk impacting the climate are an important issue for Ovako, and by choosing a logistics system based on rail transport, Ovako is able to reduce its emissions of carbon dioxide.
The climate certificate means that Ovako's total freight transport in Sweden, conducted by Green Cargo in 2013, had a carbon footprint of less than 10 grams of carbon dioxide per net tonne kilometre. These shipments were carried out mainly using electric trains running on electricity from hydropower.
