Phetra Ericsson on Ovako’s nomination for Career Company of the Year 2024: "Together, we create steel for a sustainable society"
We are very pleased and proud at Ovako to be nominated for the Career Company of the Year 2024 award, after being named Newcomer of the Year in 2023. This nomination is a testament to the work we have put in throughout the year to strengthen our employer branding and engagement, both externally and internally.
Over the past year, we at Ovako have made ourselves visible in entirely new ways. Our communications team has experimented with new approaches and channels, while we have also made significant efforts to engage our employees. By revisiting our values and defining our purpose, we have established "The Ovako Way"—our way of doing things with sustainability as our guiding principle. This is not just an internal guideline but a living expression of how we address todays and tomorrow’s challenges as a sustainable steel manufacturer.
One of our greatest successes has been developing our team, including welcoming a new Head of Talent Acquisition and People Development. At the same time, we have continued to invest in leadership training, both for young talents and for our experienced leaders, new networks and mentor programs. These initiatives, combined with our employees’ engagement and sense of contributing to something bigger, are some of the factors I believe contribute to our nomination as one of Sweden's most attractive career companies.
