What attracted you to Ovako?

I got in touch with Ovako when I was about to do my internship through my studies in human resources. I like working in industries, although I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I enjoy that environment. At the time, I didn’t know much about Ovako, but it turned out to be a perfect match! I loved my internship and worked in the HR department during the summer. About 1 ½ years later, my former boss contacted me and told me there was an opening and asked if I was interested—of course, I said yes! My goal after my education was to start working at Ovako.

I enjoy it so much because the decision-making process is short and it's easy to make changes. I have a big influence in my work and the opportunity to develop. Ovako is a company that believes in individuals and gives them the chance to grow because they are trusted. I appreciate Ovako's approach to our values: being innovative, knowledgeable, and responsible. I truly believe this holds true in reality! I also feel a very close-knit atmosphere here, it’s never difficult to reach out to a colleague. You work with your heart here, and employees are our most important resource!

What does a typical workday look like for you?

Haha—I don't think there is such a thing as a typical workday! But my main purpose is to provide managerial support, with all that it entails. I also make sure we have the right processes to support our business and drive us towards results. Some of the recurring tasks I handle include various negotiations, employee rehabilitation, disciplinary matters, organizational development, statistics, analysis, and registry maintenance. I also need to be an expert when it comes to labor law, interpreting and following collective agreements.

What is the most fun part of your job?

The most fun part is all the great people I get to meet, especially my colleagues. No two days are the same, and I really enjoy that because variety is important to me. I think the core of why I find my job enjoyable is the variation, while still being able to specialize in my field and help support others.

What do you do when you're not working at Ovako?

I spend a lot of time with my family, and I also love to travel and explore the world. Greece is a favorite destination that holds a special place in my heart. Otherwise, I enjoy trying out new food or maybe baking something delicious. I also enjoy binge-watching a good series.
