What attracted you to Ovako?

The opportunity to work in industrial electrical maintenance is what attracted me to Ovako. I applied several times for electrical maintenance and finally got the position in 2019, even though I was sure during vocational school that I wouldn’t end up at Ovako. Now, after 5.5 years of repairing equipment—four years as a maintenance worker and 1.5 years in electrical fault repair—I wouldn’t change a single day <3

What does a typical workday look like for you?

The structure of my workday varies depending on the shift I’m on. The day always starts with coffee, and from there, we start building the day. Usually, while having coffee, we catch up on what’s going on, and it doesn’t take long before the phone rings, and I have to head out to the field to fix equipment.

What’s the most fun part of your job?

The most fun part is being able to apply my skills and really think things through when I come across a tricky fault in a device or production line. But when it’s a hectic shift, it’s important to prioritize and figure out which line is most critical to get up and running first. The best part is that you’re always learning something new, and with electrical equipment and technology constantly changing and evolving, an electrician is never fully trained or knows everything.

What do you do when you’re not working at Ovako?

When I’m not working, I spend time with friends, go to the gym, cycle, hike, play computer games with friends, and occasionally do some fishing.
